• 17 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: I wish the National Emergency Response Committee on Coronavirus would suggest to the Cabinet or this Parliament that we have a special or specific financing for people who are being attended for COVID-19 disease. Sometime in April, they said that they were manufacturing PPE locally. However, from what you hear from the medics, the PPEs are nowhere to be found. There should be no simple mind which should be expected to come up with a solution. We need a comprehensive policy statement saying how Kenyans’ bills will be paid, when they suffer from that pandemic. Nobody has asked for it. There is no family which is ready for this kind of bill. Further the public servants offer key and essential services to the citizens of the Republic of Kenya. Recently, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury issued a directive concerning freezing of recruitment and hiring of new civil servants for the next three years.
