  • 28 Feb 2024 in National Assembly: Is the Cabinet Secretary for Education aware of this and what is he doing to ensure that Narok North Constituency benefits from the hardship allowance? This will ensure that our teachers do not run away to other constituencies to benefit from that allowance. view
  • 22 Nov 2023 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, thank you for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to the issue of education. Narok North Constituency has really been hit by the shortage of teachers. I remember I brought a Question before this House three months ago asking the TSC to consider Narok North as a hardship area. I have not received any response from the TSC up to today while we have schools that have a population of about 600 pupils with two teachers. The neighbouring constituencies are beneficiaries of hardship allowances. I would like to know why I have not received any response ... view

  • 15 Nov 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the President's Speech. At the outset, the President's Speech was good. I say so because he touched on issues that affect our people. The first issue that he touched on is the youth. We will have digital hubs in our constituencies that will help create jobs for the youth. He also touched on subsidised fertilisers which will provide a long-term solution to hunger in the country. Availability of fertilisers will ensure that farmers grow their own food and have bumper harvest, thus securing the country from hunger. ... view
  • 15 Nov 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for protecting me. As I was saying, the President talked about education by stating the number of teachers that were hired. He also talked about the plan to have our children get access to university education through Government loans so that they can further their studies. The President also touched on housing. He talked about housing programmes in every constituency to benefit Kenyans who do not own houses. This will bring dignity to our people by ensuring that they live in decent houses. In terms of health, he touched on universal healthcare as envisioned in ... view
  • 26 Oct 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this important Bill which touches on NG-CDF. It means a lot to the communities that we represent in this House. It has helped the community to construct schools. That is why most of our children do not learn under trees. If it were not for this money, some of our children would be learning under trees because they do not have money to construct classrooms. This Fund is really felt by the community at grassroots levels. They feel that they are part of it. When ... view

  • 24 Oct 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to support the Statement. Examinations are a serious issue that we need to look into. Cheating during examinations has been going on for a long time. We need to deal with it once and for all so that we can issue certificates to those who have worked for them. With regard to transporting examination papers twice a day, some areas, like my constituency have many wards with unpassable roads. My constituency has six wards. Transporting examination papers twice daily and reaching schools on time may be impossible. The Ministry of Education ... view

  • 12 Oct 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support the Bill. This is a Bill that touches on people at the grassroots level and we all need to support it. Health is very important to our people. We can all agree that, as Members of Parliament, every weekend we have more than 10 people in our houses who need money because their relatives are unable to pay hospital bills. If this Bill is passed, it means that the health facilities will never miss the necessary basic things that they need like syringes, bandages and medicine. What makes ... view
