  • 26 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. My observation is that once Members raise Questions on the Floor, these Questions are taken to the CS, the Ministry grapples with a solution and then presents it on the day that the Member is invited. As my colleagues have said, the responses are normally in written form. As Members have said, the idea would be to look at the Standing Orders to see how we can amend them so that we do not drop the Questions. I was supposed to appear before that Committee yesterday morning. I got the schedule on time and knew ... view
  • 26 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: something had come up. I do not know. How do you handle situations where it is just last minute and it is also important business of the House? view
  • 26 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I rise to support this important Motion to provide assistive devices and required medical items free of charge to persons living with disabilities. At the beginning, I must say just as the Hon. Sankok has said that, all of us are potential candidates to live with disabilities. I am saying that because I was a temporary member of that club for a number of months and I understand the challenges that people living with disabilities face. This Government supports many sectors. The elderly get a stipend every month when ... view

  • 26 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Kathiani, WDM-K): Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. This Report reads like work of fiction. In fact, it is like a novel on crime. This Report is shocking. It breaks my heart to imagine that people have used the COVID-19 Pandemic to make money. It is like they are dancing on the graves of the dead. I have just looked at how the blatant theft of public funds has been done. How has this money been stolen? The Report tells us that there are companies that were set up in anticipation. When the COVID-19 Pandemic broke out ... view
  • 26 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: of cases have been going to the EACC, but people are not seeing them “biting” anybody. This time round, we want to see the EACC “bite” because this is a tragedy against this country. With those remarks, I support. view
  • 19 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also rise to give thanks in support of the President’s Speech that he gave to this House. I want to begin at the point where the President said that, like Moses who stood on top of Mount Nebo, he sees the promised land that the country is going towards. It is really true that this country requires that kind of foresight. When the President talked about bringing Kenyans together for a better future, it is really something that needs to be taken seriously. On the idea and the proposal that the President talked ... view

  • 19 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: forest fires does not solve a problem of flooding because that was not the problem in the beginning. These are separate issues. One is Coronavirus which we understand and has to be dealt with, the other one is the fights every five years and the economic downturn that this country takes every five years because of political competition. So, I want to say that I am supporting the BBI. I am also supporting the fight against Coronavirus. But let us go to what the Government has done on the fight against Coronavirus because, when people speak, it is like there ... view
