  • 30 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for this opportunity to contribute to this very important Bill. First, I would like to thank Hon. Washiali for this very great piece of legislation that he has brought to this House. Basically, that means he is carrying out his responsibility as a legislator in the best possible way. I wish him the best because we are going into an election and I am certain there might be some things he is interested in, even if it is handing over the seat. This Bill is dealing with insurance professionals registration. I do not know ... view
  • 30 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: said that we have a major problem of integrity. He said that one of the major problems that employers face all over the world is that employees steal from them. He lamented for seven to 10 minutes about integrity. Insurance has also been infiltrated by the same problem. There are people who want to be insured, but they give false information because they want to benefit. There are also practitioners who do not make payments after receiving money. This is an industry that we need to sort out. Customers want to cheat. Practitioners want to steal. There are a lot ... view
  • 30 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: will have all courses aligned to this industry in one place. We will have better practitioners out of the process. Finally, if other sectors are regulated and other professionals have professional bodies, why not the insurance sector? With those few remarks, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I support. view
  • 21 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Hon. Deputy Speaker. Looking at the Order Paper, we have some very serious business lying ahead of us. I rise under Standing Order No.95 to request that we call the Mover to reply, make a decision on this and then move on to the other business of the day. That was a point of order, not my contribution. view
  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to also comment on this issue of pensioners. Pensioners are retirees; mostly old people who have worked very hard all their lives to save some money for their old age. Interestingly, retirement age is known at the time of employment. So, it is not a surprise to the employer that someone has reached retirement age. From the date you are employed, based on your age, you can calculate to know the time you will be retiring. So, the problem really must be corruption and I think this is what ... view
  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). So, as they leave, it is important for them to be trained on business and money management so that they can make something out of their lives. I support, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. view
  • 17 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to ask Question No. 325/2021, to the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works: (i) When is the construction of the Mumbuni-Kathiani road in Kathiani Constituency which has been upgraded to bitumen standards scheduled to be completed? (ii) Considering that the sections of the road that have been done have already developed potholes, what steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to ensure that the road is constructed to the set standards? view
  • 18 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for this opportunity. I think this Petition is really timely. When people commit offences, punishment is meted out, so that they can be corrected. Sometimes, they end up going to jail because these are correctional centres. After they have served their terms, there should be a short period within which they are rehabilitated back to society. I think it is a fact that a lot of employers in Kenya today insist on the Certificate of Good Conduct. Therefore, this basically means that one who committed an offence, even if it was 20, 30 or 40 ... view
  • 18 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to ask Question No.323 of 2021 to the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain why Nduva Muthengi Nzyoka of ID No. 1695524, Munyiva Wambua Ndunda of ID No.1605314, Muthue Mumo of ID No..32522845 and over 200 other beneficiaries of the Elderly Cash Transfer Programme in Kathiani Constituency no longer receive their monthly stipends despite having been successfully recruited into the programme and receiving the money for some time? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the circumstances that led to the removal of these beneficiaries from the ... view
