  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: (c) what he is doing to ensure that family members of staff who die while in service are paid their dues promptly? view
  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Assistant Minister for the effort he has put in looking for this information. You have heard the Assistant Minister use the words “piecing together.” The family of Mr. Kanoti lost the wife to Mr. Kanoti in 1989 and Mr. Kanoti himself, who worked with the Ministry, died in 1998. The children left behind have been attempting to reach the Ministry Headquarters to get assistance and they cannot produce the letters of appointment and the other letters that the Ministry requires. view
  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, my question on part “b” is, what is the Government doing to pay these children and when? view
  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am sure you heard what the Assistant Minister is saying, that he will only be able to forward this case to the Pensions Department, but I consider them to be still the same Government. Is the Assistant Minister in order to run away from his responsibility of telling the country when families of those who have died ahead of us will be paid? When is it going to happen? Can you give an indication as the Government? view
  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in part “c” of the answer, the Assistant Minister talked of automation of the data management system by the Government to ensure that view
  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: this kind of situation does not arise in future for those who have passed away and those who will pass away while in the Civil Service. Can the Assistant Minister give an indication as to when this system will come into operation and save the bereaved families the agony of following their dues to the Ministries for very a long time, as the case is for Mr. Kanoti’s family? view
  • 18 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I start with thanking the Prime Minister for this Statement which is intended to address the Government’s concern to improve health care provision. As I listened, I found myself so sad that the Prime Minister is only pointing to what should have been done or what should be done by the Government without giving us some substantive measures of addressing the issue of the number of health workers in public facilities in this country. It is a concern of every Kenyan that all facilities in this country should have doctors of all cadres and all ... view
  • 18 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: The provision of all the commodities in these facilities is lacking. He has not told us what he will do to address the deficiencies of medical requirements starting from equipment, pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals, including blankets, the simplest of all which the Government cannot provide for her people. He is here telling us that we are heading where there are no finances. What is the Government doing to allocate sufficient funds now and in future to ensure Kenyans get service when they need it in all our facilities? view
  • 18 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, very much, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. If you could add a third one, it will be better. The Prime Minister has talked about national health insurance. It is only in January when the Government handed over the outpatient health service provision through the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) and it is the NHIF that will provide outpatient services to public servants. The rollout was done in January. When you look at the rollout, the Government, through the NHIF, chose to run away from the well known Government public hospitals, which provide the bulk of the population with ... view
  • 18 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I speak with authority as the Chairman of the Health Committee, evidence before us is to the effect that the NHIF allocated public servants to little known private clinics some of which have doubtful existence. view
