  • 7 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity in order to pass a word of condolence to the families of those children who perished in a road accident in Mwingi Central. It is painful to lose a loved one, particularly a young one. In my observation, school managements need to consider the experience of drivers when employing. They should also not consider drivers who do not travel long distances. When they get an opportunity to drive, it is so difficult for them because they are not used to driving every day. They get tired. Sometime they do ... view
  • 2 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Report on environment and natural resources. I request that you protect me from the Leader of the Majority Party because he is consulting loudly. view
  • 2 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: He is consulting loudly. I stand to support the Report. I commend the Committee and its Chair for going deep on the Report on environment. I want to go into record that today, as I stand in the 12th Parliament contributing to the issue of environment, I was born in a forest, brought up in a forest and I know what to do with a forest. We must accept that corruption is killing this country. The Report indicated that forest officers have turned their way of operation into business. They also run saw mills like licensed businessmen and women. When ... view
  • 2 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: the country in total shame. I do not see why they should be in office. In that case, we are proposing community management system where people from Eldama Ravine will manage Lembus Forest. You find people from outside the county benefiting from this forest yet the locals have been taking care of it. I remember in 1973, we used to have shamba system in the forest where I was born. There was no need of burning houses. What one needed to do was to plant trees. As they grew, people started moving out of that land because they would not ... view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: On a point of order. view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: The Leader of the Majority Party is out of order on this issue. Hon. Wario was a Member of the County Assembly (MCA) on a Wiper ticket in Tana River and not a ‘spanner boy’. He has been a supporter of the Wiper Party and a life Member. So, the issue of ‘spanner boy’ should not arise. view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: (Inaudible) The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. Acertified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. Sincerely speaking, this is not an investment that we can embrace for our youth. This is just a game owned by foreigners. I want to be in the records that I am totally opposed to reducing the taxes. If you have never been into those gaming houses, you will not understand what is happening there. We should retain it at 35 per cent. view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Much as we want to see that the country earns revenue, we should not earn revenue at the expense of our youth. Giving foreigners 15 per cent does not make sense. It should have been 40 per cent. My point is to discourage this activity in the country as much as possible. view
  • 26 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support what the Member has brought to the House. I was involved very closely during the arrest of Hon. Arama. When Hon. Arama was arrested, I actually went to the police station and we sat there the whole of Saturday and Sunday waiting for him to be taken to court in Nakuru but we were surprised that at 4.00 O’clock, he was bundled into a car and brought all the way to Nairobi. What I am wondering is how a Member of Parliament who has been elected by the people of ... view
