  • 9 Nov 2016 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is the Chairman in order to say three Kisiis, five Kikuyus, five Luhyas and so on? Are they not Kenyans or were they employed based on tribalism? view
  • 9 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like the Chairperson to confirm whether these universities are becoming tribal enclaves. If you hear from his statement, all the vice-chancellors from Nyanza are Luos. All the vice-chancellors from Central are Kikuyus. All the vice-chancellors from Western are Luhyas and all the vice-chancellors from Coast are Swahilis. Is he confirming that these are becoming tribal enclaves? view
  • 1 Nov 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, Kenya has being doing a lot in diplomatic circles using her finances to try and make peace in South Sudan. The Senate Minority Leader said that when Ugandans who are in South Sudan were threatened, President Museveni had to send the Uganda Defence Forces to go and protect the Ugandans and their properties in South Sudan. Many Kenyans have invested a lot in that country. I wonder whether the Kenyan Government has put in place a defence force so that when Kenyans or their property are threatened in Sudan, they are flown there to go and secure ... view
  • 1 Nov 2016 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I thank the Chairperson of Standing on Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare for his answer which I think is inadequate. I have seen the growth of these street children in every centre in Kenya. This is a bombshell. You have heard the Chairperson say the last five years they have disbursed about Kshs328 million. I would like him to tell us the projects which have been funded in his own Kilifi County, leave alone Samburu County. I would also like him to tell us who are these trustees in foreign governments and the ... view
  • 19 Oct 2016 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I just want to ask my colleague under what Standing Order that is provided. view
  • 19 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, there are three issues which have come out strongly. First, the CS has no respect for whatever we have requested him to do. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate view
  • 19 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, in welcoming the students from Changamwe, I would like to urge them not to wait to be nominated. They should fight like I contested with seven men. I am here as the only elected Senator living with disability. view
  • 18 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, last week the gracious lady Senator promised to bring the answer today. It has been five months down the road. If they cannot bring the Statement to the House, may I ask her to summon the two Cabinet Secretaries from the Ministry of Devolution and Planning and the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Services so that we question them here? view
  • 12 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would also like to join you and my other colleagues in appreciating colleagues from South Sudan who have come here to learn the best practices we have in our Senate and our country. Peace has been very elusive in South Sudan. I would like to urge them not only to allow those occupying senior position to carry the cross of peace but they should all come together and guarantee peace in South Sudan. One of my family members is entrenched in peace building in South Sudan. I would like them to work with all Kenyans and ... view
  • 11 Oct 2016 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity. It is unfortunate that a 16 year old girl as beautiful as she is has lost one eye because of a reckless prisons officer. All officers within the Kenya prisons Service, the National Police Service and the Kenya Army are taught on how to aim at a target. I cannot even comprehend how that prisons officer who was trying to shoot an escapee got a schoolgirl who was playing within the school compound. Mr. Speaker, Sir, what we are demanding as Senators is that the young girl should be compensated. ... view
