  • 11 Oct 2016 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. First, I would like to thank Sen. Elachi for bringing these amendments. They will come in handy and will go a long way in ensuring peaceful coexistence among warring communities in Kenya. It will ensure that people involved in peace building are patriotic Kenyans guided by integrity and national ideals. The Bill seeks to accommodate peace building initiatives which are non-military. Whenever we want to restore peace in Kenya we send our military. We need to empower the NCIC, so that they bring communities together peacefully. We should not only rely on the military ... view
  • 4 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also join my colleagues in sending my condolences to the family of the late Bamahriz. When they were struggling during what they called the “second liberation”, most of us were in the Kenya African National Union (KANU). The way he used to describe the then regime in Swahili was so sweet that most of us could not even narrate what he used to say. Just to inform you, Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale, apart from that, I also want to congratulate him because he was just recently elected as Deputy Leader of Sen. Wetangula. view

First, I would like to thank the leadership of this House because for the last three years, we have done a good job for Kenyans. We have come out strongly to defend counties and make sure that development is initiated in the counties. I would also like to thank the national Government and the National Treasury for supporting devolution. About four years ago devolution was new to this country, but now I can proudly state that ... view
  • 27 Jul 2016 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I want to join you and the Senator for Bungoma to welcome vijana kutoka ingo . I want to tell them that they should emulate us. Your Senator has been a very good politician. He has been in this House for the last 20 years, so you should emulate him. Please, do not go back and burn the school. view
  • 27 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think the problem lies with us here. This morning, I passed through the Ministry of Health Headquarters and they were celebrating International Standards Organization (ISO) certification. They have attained that today. So, the problem lies with us here. We must have a kamukunji to discuss it and see that we serve Kenyans. view
  • 5 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank you for giving me this opportunity. I thank the Senator for Kakamega for bringing this Petition to this House. It is not only Isiolo which has started leasing game parks. Samburu County is in the process of bringing a similar Petition to this House. I support that Petition. I encourage the people of Kenya to participate fully in the use of their natural resources. Mr. Speaker, Sir, with those few remarks, I beg to support. view

  • 7 Jun 2016 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for these CORD Members to malign Issack Hassan who was nominated by them in the last Parliament? We know him as a very clean person who cannot be intimidated because he comes from a small tribe. view
  • 7 Jun 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to challenge my friend here. He should stop showing us that hatred in his face. We used to be in KANU together and he is now demonstrating against Kenyans. He will have to answer one day. view
