I would like to state that we have had very many instances in the past where traders, even after such amendments are moved and certain goods and services are removed from certain tax brackets, the benefit is not conferred on the consumer. Ni muhimu tukumbuke wale ambao hawana kazi. Tusipowatafutia kazi hawa vijana na kupeleka raslimali kule mashinani ukweli ni kuwa wakikosa kazi, usalama hautakuweko. By just flying a flag, you are fined Kshs.1 million! That is the import of this proposed amendment. When you say “not less than”, it means you can actually be convicted and fined Kshs.1 million or more. This is not acceptable and all of us should oppose this amendment. view
