My constituents are dependent on peasant and dairy farming. Therefore, fertilizer is a major component in increasing their yields. At this point, I would like to thank Egerton University for the soil survey they carried because it will help our farmers to have more faith in other types of manure other than fertilizer.   • 12 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: reports, so that hon. Members can read them in advance. In the last session, all the time for Private Members’ Motions was taken away. Debates of some Motions started but they kept on hanging and being postponed until some of them lapsed. So, as much as we would want to have a lot of time to discuss committee reports, we would not want them to take up all the time of Private Members’ Motions. Pursuant to Standing Order No 44(2)(c), I wish to request a statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Lands regarding the encroachment and issuance of title deeds within the Lake Naivasha riparian reserve. Lake Naivasha is wetland of international importance, with over 300 bird species. Its economic contribution is of both regional and national importance. Destruction of the lakes in the riparian reserve would severely affect its ecological balance and hinder its environmental sustainability.
