  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: (IG) will not accept that the police killed. That is why Kenyans need to do a lot, especially in the police service, so that we have people who can serve Kenyans in a passionate way. view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Our children are not safe in most of our universities. We have parents here. The other day I lost two people from Kapenguria in Eldoret. Mr. Cherotum was a lecturer and so was Mr. Lepogoit at the University of Eldoret. How can people lose lives in an institution of higher learning? view
  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you for protecting me, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Up to now there is no report indicating the cause of death. I also appeal to the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology of this House to become more serious in education matters. We were in a mess recently. Our teachers went on strike for five weeks and there was no attention. Nobody brought even an adjournment Motion as our brother Hon. Olago Aluoch has done. So, it seems as if this House is not working. That is what I am concerned about. I will stop there and say that ... view
  • 7 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for that honour. I want to congratulate the Members who recognise senior Members in this House. First and foremost, I want to thank the Member who brought this Bill, and those who have contributed to it. I appeal to every Member to support this Bill. • 7 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: marginalised areas, where there is no Government presence. The senior most person you can get is a chief then an assistant chief and a mkasa, that is a village elder. To get justice when you are aggrieved, you travel a long distance, like from Kapenguria all the way to Kitale in Trans Nzoia County. That is where you get a High Court station. The Member for Kwanza, who is a good friend of mine, is listening because he knows. When one is taken to those places, communication is also a challenge because of language barrier. Some people in Turkana, Trans ... view
  • 7 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also want to talk about the time that the cases are taking. You will find that most cases are brought to Milimani High Court. Some are from North Eastern and Rift Valley. They come all the way to Nairobi. It is a problem even for the witnesses to come and give evidence. Sometimes we blame them that they fail to come up. It is because the Government is not supporting them. I remember in the 1970s when you were called to be a witness, or if you were accused, you were given transport, so as ... view
  • 7 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: some crops. That was just a civil case that could be dealt with by elders around there and the chief, but it went to the police and to the High Court. It changed from a civil case to a criminal case. The accused person was branded a murderer. How can you kill maize? view
  • 7 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: I want to give my colleagues time. I just want to congratulate whoever brought this Bill. I appeal to my colleagues here to pass it. If there are places where we can do some corrections, bring them. This Bill will solve problems of Kenyans. Thank you. I support it. view
  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you very much hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to thank the Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. For the first time as the other Members have expressed, this is a milestone and Kenyans of the lower cadre are going to be saved. The poor, I will say, their God is rising and is now going to support them. Like in West Pokot where I come from, most of the people who have been The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: taking good jobs at the local level were brought from Nairobi and other urban areas. But now, I know that from this Bill, they will be supported and their lifestyle will improve. I want to thank the Committee once more. Thank you very much. view
