  • 28 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Do you need that information? view
  • 28 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Order, Mr. Omingo! You will continue next time. Hon. Members, it is time to interrupt the business of the House. This House, therefore, stands adjourned until tomorrow, Wednesday, 29th, November, at 9.00 a.m. The House rose at 6.30 p.m. view
  • 9 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has no concept of how West Pokot looks like. I do not think he understands the difficulties which children and parents face in accessing fees. Many children in the area cannot go to school because of lack of fees. Could the Assistant Minister take it upon himself to identify the children who are on relief food and protect them from being sent home until such as time as they will not be relying on relief food because that is the issue? This will enable them to continue with their studies without being interrupted. view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Munya, are you sure that happens from school to school? view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: The Minister should take note of all questions and answer them together. view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: But Mr. Minister, there was the issue that hon. Munya raised on one school benefiting and others from the same zone not benefiting. Is that going on? view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: I thought we should be reducing the number of districts receiving hardship allowance instead of increasing. Why does everybody want to be on the list of hardship? What is happening in the country? view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Order, Mr. Billow! You are going into argument. The only thing the Minister can do is to refer to a criteria and he cannot be out of order for doing that. view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Very well. I hope Members will look for the Minister and give their contributions so that this report can be acceptable. But I am still wondering why we are all seeking to be part of hardship instead of coming out of it. view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is a sector that is being threatened by not only the poor labour relations but also by mechanisation, or use of machines to pick coffee and tea. Unless these issues are addressed these workers will not get representation. My understanding is that the Assistant Minister seems to be reading from the employer's script and not from where the employees' stand. Does he have the capacity to attend to workers' cases in all individual companies, especially coffee and tea companies? Does he have a shortage of officers, so that problems of employees are not being addressed? ... view
