  • 14 Mar 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also rise to support this Statement from the Senator for Nandi, Sen. Cherarkey, on this matter of scholarship of students across the country. This is not just an issue for Uasin Gishu County but is a matter that touches all counties in Kenya. Almost every county government and the national Government has allocated an amount for scholarships and bursaries to benefit the students of this country. There is also the issue of counties bringing up the bursary fund to their own people. This Statement will try to resolve this matter by looking at how ... view
  • 9 Mar 2023 in Senate: Asante, Bw.

  • 23 Feb 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support the Statement from the Senator for Marsabit County on the issue of non-remittance of staff statutory deductions. This is a very emotive issue where the counties are not remitting the statutory deductions. Not just the statutory deductions but even loans and Savings and Credit Co-operative Society (SACCO) dues for members. This is a very big and emotive issue in the counties. The non-remittance is accruing a lot of arrears in the counties and that makes counties to have a lot of pending bills even to their own staff. I know ... view

  • 19 Jan 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise to support this important Bill that has come to this House. The IEBC is an important Commission because it determines the future of this country as we have witnessed. We need to support this Bill as it is. The amendments are in order. The clause that gives a slot to the Public Service Commission (PSC) is good because it helps us to get people from different diversities who have different experiences and careers. The PSC is known for its high level of integrity. We also recognize the presence of LSK. I believe that ... view
  • 30 Dec 2022 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am already upstanding. Let me take this opportunity to congratulate the Committee for the good work done. Thank you for making the Senate proud and being brief in presenting the issues. The issues raised against the Governor were few. You have been clear to the Senate that the issues were not something that can make the Governor to be impeached. view
