I am looking at the changes made in the Standing Committee on Tourism, Trade and Industrialisation where I Chair. I welcome Sen. (Dr.) Lelegwe Ltumbesi and Sen. Okenyuri to my Committee. The IEBC is an important Commission because it determines the future of this country as we have witnessed. We need to support this Bill as it is. The amendments are in order. The clause that gives a slot to the Public Service Commission (PSC) is good because it helps us to get people from different diversities who have different experiences and careers. Thank you for making the Senate proud and being brief in presenting the issues. The issues raised against the Governor were few. You have been clear to the Senate that the issues were not something that can make the Governor to be impeached. view

I rise to support by introducing a few issues, that if we look at carefully as the Senate, then we will secure this country. If we are not able to feed ourselves, then we cannot have a country. It is important for us to introduce more mechanisms and strategic plans, so as to put some good plans by the end of this Financial Year. If we do that, we will mitigate the issue of food security in the next three or four years. view
• 23 Nov 2022 in Senate: I know that we have so many issues that are affecting food security. For example, the pollution of environment and subdivision of land in counties like Kajiado where I come from. People are subdividing land leaving no place to cultivate or farm. These are the issues that county governments need to look into, so as to see how they can protect the farmers from the onset. view
