  • 7 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the syringe falls under medical service. Could the Ministry consult with NACADA and give a reply to the Question? view
  • 2 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. As we are aware, there has been a lot of school unrest of late. I wonder whether the Ministry should wait until we ask Questions here, so that they respond to such problems. Could the Assistant Minister tell us what they are doing to address those problems? It is a pity that mosques are being burned down and all sorts of things are happening in our schools. view
  • 1 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, as you are aware the people of Lamu have not owned title deeds. I wonder how the Ministry is going to compensate them. Are they going to be compensated for the value of land or for the value of the plants which are there? These are the genuine land owners of those areas and if there is compensation they should be compensated to the same value, whether they have title deeds or not. view

  • 20 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is very unfortunate to see that there are some constituencies in this country which do not even have one kilometer of tarmac like Ijara and Lamu. What are the criteria of building roads in this country by the Ministry? What criteria do you use in saying we are doing this area and not this area? It looks like if it was not because of the port, we would not even have those roads. Can you consider building those roads even before the port is ready in the areas which are suffering? view
  • 7 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The two-thirds gender balance requirement is part of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Could the Assistant Minister tell us what mechanisms they have put in place to achieve the MDGs, because the deadline is 2015? view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think the issue of title deeds on public utilities like schools lies with the county council. It is the county council which should--- They know the town plans and everything. This thing should be passed in the county council. It should be taken to the county council as a Motion. It is passed in the county council and then they apply for the title deed from the Ministry of Lands – it is simple. It should come from the county council of the relevant county. view
