  • 22 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: head is called “Chief Executive Officer” while the deputy is called “Deputy Director-General.” It has taken me by surprise too that we did not have that in our amendments. view
  • 22 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, on behalf of the Committee, I really want to thank the Committee Members who have taken a lot of time to look at this Bill. We have gone to the field to check on the issue of irrigation so as to come up with ways to give it a new life. I would also like to thank the leadership of this House for looking at this and giving us the opportunity to finish it as quickly as possible. view

  • 18 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this chance. I would like to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government the following Question: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the steps being taken by the Government to address frequent community conflicts occurring in Arid and Semi-Arid regions of the country, which have caused deaths, destruction of properties and resulted in a significant increase in the number of orphans and widows and rise in poverty levels in the said areas? • 18 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: sustainability plan. I have gone to many projects in this country that clearly have no clear management and sustainability plans. With this amendment, we will have a clear management structure and a clear map of sustainability of irrigation projects. It also strengthens and enhances institutions. For example, we will form Irrigation Water Users Associations. We have seen places where there have been conflict previously. With this body in place, we will have clear roles that are defined and articulated very well. We will also have an umbrella farmers' organisation that will have data showing where every irrigation project is in ... view

  • 23 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this very important matter that concerns our youths. This is a very passionate issue to the people of northern Kenya, particularly the youth. Hon. Speaker, as Hon. Duale has narrated in the Petition, the Identification Card (ID) issue has been a problem throughout. The matter of ID, particularly for those who have been in the refugee camps has been a big issue and the Government and the United Nations (UN) have dealt with it. Some of us have been going round in offices because there are many youths ... view
