Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I am also persuaded by what my colleagues have said and, particularly, what Rachel has said. That is because I witnessed that. I was with her at midnight going to that particular house. I also withdraw the amendment on Clause 26.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, the 34 doctors who were posted between 2009 to date have all moved because of the very unfair conditions and hardships that are in place. What policy does the Ministry have in order to retain the doctors and dentists in those hardship areas? We want specific policies. We do not want him to refer us to proposals that he has given to the Ministry---

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the Minister in order to tell us that this is a non-issue to be discussed when we know it is a very important issue? Hijab is an important issue. Girls have been chased away from schools left, right and centre. Is he in order?

11 Aug 2011 in National Assembly:
Thank you Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Bill. It is very clear in my mind that when we talk about a gender commission, it is a commission that will serve the women and men of this country. Having said that, on behalf of the women of this country, I want to take this opportunity to thank the Minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs for hearing the cries of the women of this nation. Mr. Minister, this is a very important issue not only to the women of this ...
