  • 24 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: counties were allocated less resources in the past. The Office of the Controller of Budget will take care of that aspect so that resources can be distributed equitably across the counties and ensure that we avoid misusing those resources. view
  • 24 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: The office is supposed to monitor and ensure that all the resources are budgeted for and controlled. Without control, public resources will fall into the wrong hands and the wealth of the country will remain in the hands of a few people. If the Office of the Controller of Budget was working efficiently, we might not have had the Eurobond issue. Many questions were being asked but nobody was ready to explain anything. We would be asking only a few questions if the Office of the Controller of Budget was working properly. If the Office of the Controller of Budget ... view
  • 24 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: We should support this Bill and pave way for the creation of a strong and independent Office of the Controller of Budget. Our resources will be safe and Kenya will not be the same again. With this office in place, issues of misappropriation, misallocation and misuse of public resources will be addressed promptly. view

  • 16 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to contribute on this Motion. From the outset, I support the Motion. I would like to congratulate the President and his Deputy for these nominees. I have read through the CVs of these nominees and I can confirm that they are qualified, experienced and committed to deliver services to Kenyans. I know that they will stay away from the monster of corruption. view

At the outset, I want to say that Kenya is running on the tax collected and the revenue that is from the various sectors of the economy. That is why we put in place various measures to ensure that every person in Kenya who has registered as a taxpayer should pay taxes. • 15 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute. I will support this Bill if it is going to solve some of the problems that we have faced before. We know that our judicial services from Independence up to now have faced a lot of challenges in interpretation, understanding and judicial organisation. So, this Bill that has come at this moment is going to solve some of these problems. One of the problems is the way the Court of Appeal is stationed in Nairobi. Most of our people find it hard to go to the Court ... view
  • 15 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Lastly, an Hon. Member has said that in the last Parliament, former Prime Minister, Hon. Odinga shed tears while persuading people to have cases of the post-election violence dealt with in Kenya, but nobody listened to him. Maybe, if he shed sincere tears, we would have listened to him. But I am sure part of his tears were bordering on crocodile tears. It is better if genuine tears were shed. view
