Nominated Senator Sylvia Kasanga is currently the Vice-Chair of the Ad hoc Committee on the Covid-19 situation in Kenya and has previously served as a member in the Ad hoc Committee that investigated the Solai Dam tragedy.

It was actually brought to my attention by the chairperson of the Committee on Health and that is why I raised the Statement to commend the current 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 budget that we finally have budgets for mental health.   • 8 Jul 2021 in Senate: During the 10th Ordinary Session of the Plenary Assembly of the FP-ICGLR held in Bujumbura from 4th to 7th December, 2019, the General Secretariat undertook an assessment on managing cross-border conflicts in the GLR. This is in accordance with Article 17 of the Pact on Security, Stability and Development, which provides that members states undertake to ensure lasting peace and security in the whole region of the Great Lakes. view
