  • 3 Nov 2020 in Senate: I will finish in next two minutes. It is difficult to change from Kiswahili to English. The brain takes a bit of time. However, in the next two minutes, I will have finished. view
  • 3 Nov 2020 in Senate: We have these reports from the county governments. We will hand them over to the relevant Standing Committee to analyze them and also report to this House accordingly. view
  • 3 Nov 2020 in Senate: The lack of public participation is a key issue that we have come across as we have been doing our work. Again, this is something that we will have to forward to the relevant Standing Committee because we have seen a lot of intervention measures done with the national Government without involving Parliament; starting from regulations and certain kind of intervention measures that have happened throughout this period of COVID-19. We shall be asking the Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights as well as the Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation to pick up on some of these issues ... view

We have a Petition before the Committee on ... view

  • 8 Oct 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity, and I want to congratulate this Committee. Thank you, Senate Majority Leader. Consideration of instruments like this is so critical. In fact, we have a situation in one of our committees, where this same Ministry went ahead and rolled out some regulations without proper public participation, and it has taken a fraternity of stakeholders to bring it to the attention of this House. As a result, we have been forced to actually have the Ministry withdraw those regulations because of lack of proper public participation. I want to commend ... view
