  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for this opportunity to register my contribution to this Bill. On behalf of the people of Kilome, I strongly support this Bill and with reasons. One, the duty of the President of this republic is to promote and enhance the unity of our nation. Kenya broke after the 2017 General Election. The President of this republic opted for a handshake with Hon. Odinga to put the nation together. There have been several general elections where we have lost lives and properties in this country. This Bill will do the necessary to curb all these problems which ... view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: as a consequence of attaining this principle. This Bill has strategically assigned a number of seats to regions and constituencies in proportion to their population. For instance, we have a constituency represented by one Member of Parliament with a population of, say, 500,000 people while we have other constituencies in North Eastern with less than 40,000 people being represented by one Member of Parliament. Through this Bill, we will attain a fair representation in the additional 70 constituencies. My constituency was at the verge of being scrapped. My people of Kilome are now assured that their constituency will be retained ... view

  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I beg to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public the following Question: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the actions the Ministry is taking to revive the Sultan Hamud, Kiu and Ulu railways stations, along the Mombasa – Nairobi MGR and SGR route, to enhance transport and improve economy and ways of doing business in Kilome Constituency? (ii) What measures is the Ministry putting in place to restore the three railway stations, considering the risen transport services demand within the Constituency attributable to recent developments, including the upcoming Konza Techno City? (iii) ... view
  • 25 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I will be very brief because of time. I rise to support this Bill by Hon. Kaluma. I appreciate him for donating one or two minutes to me. I want to make it very clear that we need to protect our women. In this case, where a man is married to a woman and after they stay for some time the man decides to marry another woman or women, the law should protect the wealth of this hardworking woman who was married initially. We have very hardworking women who know even how to create ... view
  • 9 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for this opportunity. I will be very brief. I join my colleagues to congratulate you. On behalf of the residents of Kilome Constituency and the Lower Eastern Region, we really have a lot of hope in you. Now that you have assumed a new role, you have a lot on the way to engage this country in terms of uniting the whole country and the people of Kenya. You represent a House with 290 constituencies where all the Members come from different destinations. It is now clear that the role you are going to play in ... view
  • 24 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this document. I congratulate the Committee for coming up with real issues that are happening on the ground. The fact-finding tours were the best thing for the Committee so that we can get to know where we are. It is very unfortunate that all the mega projects that we have in this country are scandals. In this regard, I refer to Makueni County Stadium where one of my colleagues, Hon. Maanzo, comes from. That stadium has taken more than two years and the work that has been done cannot be ... view
  • 24 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, in any engineering works which include construction of those stadia, if there are any payments to be made, a certificate has to be done by the public works officer. So, there is a disconnect between those who are paying and those who are giving the certificates. Meanwhile, it is very important for this Committee to make a follow-up and do what is required to bring back the monies or for the contractors to finish the works that they were supposed to have done. Lastly, as my colleagues have said, I would wish the BBI to take ... view
  • 10 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to condole with the family of the late Hon. Member of this House, Gervaise Maingi. I am sure right now, there is no Member of Parliament who was in this House then during this period of 1988 to 1992. Maingi used to serve the current Kilome and Kaiti constituencies. If it were today, he would be serving two constituencies. He will be remembered for his legacy in education. I remember he used to educate secondary school and college students. I humbly request the Members of this House and Kenya at large to condole and ... view
