After the farmer has harvested his produce, he or she is not under pressure to sell the produce at a throwaway price. Therefore, warehouse receipt system is ideal because it will regulate the health conditions of the warehouses where the produce will be stored. This is important. In Kisii, we are unable to store bananas for a long time because it is a perishable commodity. If we have a cold warehouse, then the people of West Mugirango and the entire Kisii will be assured that their commodity will be stored in a warehouse from where they can obtain good prices for the commodities. view

I beg to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development the following: a) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure compliance with the requirement of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act in respect to contractors who fail to honour contractual agreements by running behind schedules and delaying implementation of various projects in the country? b) What is the status of Metamayu-Kebirigo Road in Nyamira County in regard to adherence to contractual agreements? view
