  • 29 Jun 2023 in Senate: I think it is my fellow Senator here trying to sabotage me. view
  • 29 Jun 2023 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I rise to support and congratulate the Senator for the wonderful idea and the composition of the team that is well able. The idea of compensation of the victim of the bomb blast, like several other issues, has been bothering Kenyans. They have seen governments come and go without addressing their plight. view
  • 29 Jun 2023 in Senate: As a Member of the Kenya Kwanza Government, it is my prayer that this will be the Government that will see the fulfillment, even if to appease the souls of the departed, conclude this matter and bring it to a close. Indeed, the way we value life as a country at times leaves a lot to be desired. America is one of our development partners. Strategically, we have always placed ourselves in the line of fire, more so when it came to protecting the interests of Americans and Kenyans because of our long dating relationship. It is also good to ... view
  • 29 Jun 2023 in Senate: This will ensure that it will not be as it is today, that an issue like this still remains unaddressed, 24 years down with different governments coming in and going out with all kinds of promises. However, the voiceless people down there must feel that they have somebody who can speak for them. I want to stand up and be counted, like the Senators here that, yes, we can be the voice of our people. That is why today I am proud to support this Motion and say that we must, as a House, ensure that we bring this to ... view

  • 27 Jun 2023 in Senate: I wish to ride on the goodwill that we had a meeting with the CoG. I think tying on what my Majority Leader has said, there is need of knowing what is happening. Additionally, I add to what Sen. Chute has said, that we need to know how the counties are expending the money. It would be important for us, as a House, to come up with measures where we can develop an interphase where we will be getting that information. This is so that we cannot only discuss how the money is being spent at the county level but ... view
  • 22 Jun 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I also rise to support this wonderful Bill from the Senator for Kitui County. I pride in sitting in the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. I have seen the vigour and passion with which Sen. Wambua has been pushing this Bill and others which will bring changes in the agricultural sector. As has been said by many, mung beans can be one of the products to ensure Kenya moves closer to attainment of food security. We are all aware that it is not a highly perishable product. That being the case, putting legal ... view

  • 22 Jun 2023 in Senate: challenge to get. The school feeding programme has been done by the Nairobi City County Government and is fast picking momentum in other counties. On farming, we know that this is a crop that does well in areas that do not have a lot of rainfall and I thank Sen. Wambua for this. However, we need to manage it so that post-harvest wastages can be managed and at the same time, encourage county governments to ensure that as they start school feeding programmes. Other than ugali and maize, the other component should be the mung beans. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, ... view
