• 15 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as I indicated in part “b” of the answer, I instructed my regional manager to liaise with the constituency roads committee where the hon. Member is a patron. So, the construction of this road will really depend on the roads committee. I am aware that the rains have caused havoc in very many parts of this country, not only in Lari but the rest of the country. We are assessing the situation. Let us hope that the prediction that the rains might be over at the end of May will give us some space to repair ... view

• 10 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) Yes, I am aware that in the year 2007, tenders were advertised for the upgrading of Makutano–Kithimani Road (C100). However, these were later cancelled due to non-availability of funds. (b) My Ministry is sourcing for funds for upgrading the road to bitumen standard. Meanwhile, my Ministry, through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA), has awarded a contract for maintenance of the road in order to keep it motorable. Thank you. view

Indeed, I am aware that a contractor had gone to the site and even started recruiting workers. I am still investigating the details of what really happened for the contractor to be pulled out. view

Spika, nakushukuru kwa nafasi hii ili niunge mkono Mswada uliopendekezwa kwetu na Mkuu wa Sheria; Mswada wa marekebisho ya sheria za ziada kutoka siku 14 hadi siku 8. Mapendekezo ambayo ameyatoa kuunga huu Mswada ni kama vile kurekebisha sheria ambazo zina dosari kama vile sheria ambazo zinaangalia kazi yake ofisini, kutoa mamlaka kwa kazi yake na ile ya Mkuu wa Mashtaka. Sheria kama zile za kupendekeza kuongeza mahakimu kwa korti zetu na hata sheria za uchaguzi. • 3 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Naibu Spika wa Muda, shukrani kwa kunipa nafasi hii ili kuunga Mswada ulio mbele yetu mkono. Wakati wa kielelezo cha Katiba, kabla ya kupiga kura, wegine wetu walikuwa na mafikirio ya kuweka wakfu wa Miswada kadhaa ya kutekeleza Katiba kwa sababu wakati haukutosha. Haya mambo yaliingia kwa vichwa kiziwi na hayakusikilizwa. Sasa majuto ni mjukuu. Tuanza kuyaona sasa. Lakini basi wote tukakubali na tukakula kiapo kwamba Katiba iliyoko tutaitukuza na kuikubali na kuitekeleza vile ilivyo. Huo ndio wajibu wetu tuliyonao sasa; kwamba vipengele vyote vya Katiba vilivyoko ambavyo tulivipitisha kwa wingi wa kura za wananchi wa Kenya, vitekelezwe. view
