  • 7 Oct 2015 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. Although Sen. Mungai was also on a point of order, Sen. Madzayo did rise on a point of order on matters that I think were very important that deserved to be disposed of first and Sen. Musila also raised the same concern. Would I be in order to demand that you dispose of that first before you entertain Sen. Mungai’s request? view

This is a scourge and pandemic that requires our intense participation in trying to change the knowledge, attitude and practice in order to control it. Indeed, it requires that dissemination of services is not only done at the national level, but also pushed down to the grassroots. The Constitution of Kenya 2010 gave us a valuable tool; the establishment of the county governments - not only governments of management but even financial muscling. We ... view
  • 1 Oct 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, when we were critiquing the draft that gave birth to the current Constitution some of these anomalies were raised. The President is strictly using the Constitution to do what he is purporting to be doing; there is nothing wrong with that at all. The answer is to amend the Constitution. Those powers have been given to him through the veto and there is nothing we can do about it. We just have to look at it, amend the Constitution and remove those powers from him. view
  • 1 Oct 2015 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we will consider it in two weeks. view
  • 1 Oct 2015 in Senate: Maybe I did not hear exactly what she said. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
