This negative perception which has always been put forward by newspapers or other leaders that this law is meant to benefit Members of Parliament has been disproved today. As Hon. Keynan has said, every clause of this Bill has nothing at all to give the impression that we are using this law to benefit ourselves. view

I believe that from today, as this law will be assented to by the President, the Commission shall be enabled legally to facilitate the functions of Members of Parliament, the same way the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is facilitating the Court of Appeal Judges, magistrates and so on, and the same way the public servants are being facilitated by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
