  • 19 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as much as the police are trying to do their job properly, there were some rules which were unveiled and were bearing fruits in Nairobi. But interestingly, these rules were suspended. Could the Assistant Minister tell this country why those rules which bore good results were suspended? view
  • 19 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am referring to the traffic rules which were effected in Kenya. People were not overlapping and there was no matatu menace. However, when they were suspended by the Government, the matatu menace became rampant. The rules being meted by the Government were yielding results. Why were those rules withdrawn or suspended by the Government? view
  • 28 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the Assistant Minister in order to talk about border districts? I come from a district that does not border any country but for the last eight months no person has received an identity card in Pokot Central. What is happening in that district? Is the Assistant Minister therefore, in order to mislead the House? view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Environment and Mineral Resources:- (a) whether he is aware that informal mining of chromium, nickel and gold is taking place at Tulot area of Sekerr Location in Pokot Central District; (b) whether he could provide detailed information of the companies that are involved in the illegal mining and also indicate the period of involvement and how much of the minerals have been shipped abroad since the mining started; and, (c) what measures the Ministry will take to ensure that the mining work is legalized, so that local communities including the County Council of Pokot could benefit. view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is an interesting thing because there is a company that has been mining for the last 12 months and the Minister is not aware. Does it mean that one arm of the Government does not know what the other arm is doing? view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, that is the same company that has been there for the last 12 months. The area of Sekerr is mountainous and there is only one road leading to the upper part of the area. One time, the Kenya Postal Corporation tarmacked a one way road all the way to Sekerr, but the road is now damaged. What action is the Ministry taking to make sure that this road is rehabilitated to its original state before these people leave within the next one year? view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I just want to correct what the Minister has said about Sioi Dam. It is not called “Sioi Dam” but it is called “Muruny Dam” which is about 40 kilometres away from Kapenguria. Kapenguria is part of Sioi. However, is the Minister, therefore, telling us that Sioi or Muruny Dam will take water to Kacheliba or does she have alternative plans? This is because from Muruny to Kacheliba is 60 kilometres apart. Could the Ministry not have a different alternative? We have many rivers there, for example, Swam. There are other rivers within that area. view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is she in order--- view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, is the Minister in order to talk about the 40 kilometres? I know it is possible to take water from that distance in Ukambani. In this case, River Swam is exactly within Kacheliba. Why can the Government not use the river within Kacheliba to supply it water instead of taking the water from Kacheliba to Alale which is 120 kilometres away? Or, is she therefore, confirming to us that the water can be taken from Muruny to Alale where the DC stays? view
  • 16 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. That is a very sad case. Most of those people come from my constituency too. Are they, therefore going to live in abeyance, when this Government is not taking any responsibility? If the Assistant Minister is saying that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, then we are in a different world. What is he planning to do for those people who are there, so that action can be taken as quickly as “yesterday”? view
