• 27 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Agriculture:- (a) whether he could explain why pyrethrum farmers from Lelan and Tapach divisions of Pokot Central District have not received payment for their produce from January this year, (b) what action he will take to ensure that the payments are made immediately; and, (c) given the undue delay, whether he could state what disciplinary action he will take against the officers of the Pyrethrum Board of Kenya officers who are responsible for this and also give assurance that the farmers will be paid their money with interest. view

The Assistant Minister has told us no payment has been made for the last 11 months because of lack of funds. I am happy that the Minister for Finance is here. Is the Ministry considering appointing one or two people from the area to the new Board because they are major stakeholders? view

Nyatike Constituency is purely and predominantly a Luo domain. Could he inform the House who they were fighting with? If it is true that they were fighting, is the name of this inciter in the famous envelope? view

Member of Parliament for Nyatike, it has that quotation. Why is the Assistant Minister then misleading us when the answer given by the Ministry has those wordings? view

• 15 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, while I agree with the answer given, it is a bit misleading, because as of yesterday, documents related to the Question I asked have disappeared from the county council files in Kapenguria as we speak now. Could the Assistant Minister do a thorough job, because we have documentary evidence to show that some of that money was used to buy iron sheets, instead of being taken to pre-unit schools?
