  • 12 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir I would also like to register my opposition to the Motion because as you all know, there is no new world to be discovered or explored. The only new things we have are the new scientific frontiers. We should not deny ourselves the opportunity to benefit from the riches and wealth that may be generated by technology of genetically modified foods such as cotton, which is not a food crop, but we still stand to gain from its higher yields, resistance to pests, drought and other ways. There is need, as we look for scientific ... view
  • 5 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the Motion. It has very good intentions and its long overdue. I congratulate the hon. Member for moving it. view
  • 5 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am also seconding it. In seconding the Motion, I would like to state that it is long overdue. • 28 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, when we started the District Roads Boards (DRCs), the original intention was for them to be autonomous, so that they could hire their own staff and organize their work programmes. However, one busy body by the name of John Harun Mwau 1638 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES June 28, 2006 went to court and stopped that intention. The original intention is still very good. What action is the Assistant Minister taking to appeal against the court ruling or ensure that the Kenya Roads Board Act is implemented the way it was originally intended, notwithstanding what John Harun Mwau wants? view

  • 28 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I cannot remember which one, but I am sure there is a point of order that protects the reputation of the House and also prohibits an hon. Member from bringing the House to disrepute. You heard the Minister say that some Members of this House are on that list. Could she please substantiate? view
  • 28 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Bw.
