  • 10 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: I am told that the Mover, hon. Kapondi, was on the Floor and he had just started moving this Bill. He was to continue today, but I am told that he is not in. He has given information that he is out. So, I think we will defer this Bill to next week when the hon. Member will be present to continue moving. view

  • 9 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in part “a” of the answer, the Assistant Minister said that the Government is purchasing the maize through NCPB, I would like to know from him how much the NCPB is paying per bag and whether in that pricing, the NCPB is taking into account the cost of the inputs to the farmers. view
  • 9 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Sometime in August, I asked for a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Transport about the status and level of maintenance of airports and airstrips in the country. That statement has never been forthcoming. view

  • 9 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Chairlady, the level of unemployment in this country is very high. This is where you get the problem of somebody who has got a chance to employ, importing people from far and taking all of them to one place. So, it is a valid recommendation. view
  • 4 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Local Government:- (a) what has caused the stalling of the fresh produce market under the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) at Majengo in Vihiga District; and, (b) what measures he will take to ensure that the market is completed without further delay. view
  • 4 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, although politicians can sometimes be jacks of all trades, even to a layman, a structure like that market, without a roof, cannot be 90 per cent complete. The structure does not have a roof. In fact, I wish I had some photographs to show the Assistant Minister because the contractor left the site about six months ago. The project is hardly 60 per cent done. He is misleading the House. He has given an answer which is totally wrong. Nothing is going on there. How can it then be 90 per cent complete when it does not ... view
  • 4 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister is misleading the House completely. As I said, the building does not have a roof and he is trying to justify the kind of design it is. Is he in order? We cannot paint a building which does not have a roof. He is asking me to visit the site. How can he ask me to visit my home? I was there last weekend. He is asking me to visit the site instead of him going there. He is totally out of order. view
