  • 17 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also rise to support this Motion, which I consider very important. I would like to congratulate the Mover for thinking about the welfare and plight of Kenyans. This way, we should be able to address quite a number of basic problems facing Kenyans. The amount of money that this Motion is seeking is Kshs1.3 billion. The other day, a few organisations came together to raise money for famine ravaged Kenyans. They had set a target of Kshs500 million but, in less than ten days, they surpassed that target and raised their target to Kshs1 billion. ... view
  • 17 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, we must be able to produce enough food for ourselves. We should be able to produce enough food because we have a large pool of people who are well trained. We have many universities in the country. We can train our own people to do all this. So, we have the human capacity, and we need to put it into proper use in order for us to do this. We are asking the Government to release of Kshs1.3 billion to the KFA. With those few remarks, I beg to support. view

I would like him to tell this House and the public at large, what linkages he has with our universities to sensitize the youngsters who are there, so that he can recruit? If he does not do so, he will continue having the problem of staffing and yet I find this to be a very important industry in this country. view

  • 11 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in view of the fact that now the new Constitution supersedes this Act the Minister has referred to, when will he bring this Act up to date, so that it is in line with the new Constitution? view
  • 11 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this very important Bill. I think the publication of this Bill makes a lot of things clear. This is particularly when you look at the definition of gender. For many of us, we kept thinking that gender only meant women. I like this because it talks mainly about the social definition of women and men among different communities, cultures, classes, ages and during different periods in history. The mainstreaming also talks about many things like budgeting and so on. I want to commend the new Constitution which has now been able ... view

  • 10 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, what the Minister has said is what I was going to say. It is a very detailed answer for a very important Question. I would like to have time to go through the answer so that I can interrogate it. view
