14 Sep 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I congratulate the Senate Deputy Speaker, the Senate Majority Leader, the Chief Whip and their deputies. All these people are very able. They will be working with you and us and we look forward to discharge our responsibilities as hon. Senators. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to join the Senate Majority Leader by expressing my displeasure in the manner in which our colleagues in the opposition have behaved. We were all elected to represent the people. The Motion before us now will help the counties to discharge their responsibilities. Mr. Speaker, Sir, as I speak, many governors ...

6 Apr 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as I was coming, I tried to find out from the clerk of the Committee why some of the statements were not ready. According to him, the statement sought arrived at Harambee House very late and that is why they could not make available the statement. It is very unfortunate that we Chairmen are being vilified here for mistakes which are not ours. So, the best we could do---

6 Apr 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is not you but Members who ask for statements who demand for things that are impossible for us do. Our work is to follow them up. The Clerk himself admitted that most of the statements were delayed here in the House. So, it is not our fault.

1 Mar 2017 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I have been the Provincial Commissioner for Rift Valley, and I am quite aware of the plight of the Talai Community. It is very unfortunate that when we talk about historical injustice, we are talking about what happened from 1963 to date. Yet, we are being told from 1834 the Talai people have been segregated, killed and their property taken away simply because they stood for the interest of this country. We are also quite aware that successive governments in this country have been addressing the land issue. Many settlement schemes have been ongoing ...

21 Feb 2017 in Senate:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for Sen. Murkomen to say that the President of America is a rogue president? Is he in order to discuss the President of a friendly country?

15 Feb 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I thank the gentleman who brought the Petition to this House. Now that we are approaching elections, I am happy to have read in the newspapers today – I do not know whether it will be applied or not – that under the integrity requirement, all the people who are being investigated by the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC) will not be allowed to present their nomination papers. This House being responsible for the welfare of counties should rethink and bring a Bill here to emphasise that all the governors facing investigations or whose cases ...

15 Feb 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we should not be unfair to Sen. Okong’o for being honest in saying that when he was a young man he used to smoke these things. That should not stop him from being the President of this country because Bill Clinton also admitted to smoking and he was the most senior head of state in the world. The only advice I will give to the Committee is that this gentleman should be invited and listened to halafu apewe pili pili kali amezee ili imwashe kama anataka hivyo .

5 Jan 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I did not want to speak but it is just a point of order. I do not know whether you heard Sen. (Dr.) Machage saying that it will be naïve of you after you made your ruling last time. Is he in order to use such words?
