  • 26 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I will convey the message to him. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
  • 26 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to appeal to my friend, Sen. Wetangula, to give him two weeks. Anyway, I will pass the message. view
  • 26 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, Sen. Hassan Omar is very correct. He demanded a Statement about three weeks ago. In the first week, I assigned my deputy, Sen. Fatuma, to follow up since I was not in Nairobi. She did everything possible and there has not been any response. For the last two weeks, as late as this afternoon, I have been following up those statements asked by Sen. Hassan and the gracious lady Senator who was here. We have no response. Either these people are not capable of giving any response, because they do not know what they are doing, do ... view
  • 25 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not able to give this Statement. Up to now, we have not received the Statement from the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government. view
  • 25 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, my Committee has summoned the Minister for Defence as well as the Minister for Interior and Coordination of National Government tomorrow. I do not know whether this meeting will be possible because of the Members of this Committee, I believe want to attend the prayers for the late Kajwang. But some of us will still be there, so that we see if the meeting can take place. view
  • 13 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I will issue the Statement on Wednesday, next week. view
  • 13 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to sincerely apologise considering the seriousness of the Statement required that I am unable to give this Statement. However, I want to tell the House that if this Statement does not come by Tuesday, next week, we will summon all the security apparatus in this country to come and appear before the Committee and explain why a simple Statement of “Yes” or “No” cannot be done within two hours. view
  • 13 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to support this Motion. As has been stated by many speakers, Articles 95 and 96 are very clear. The Executive which we represent here as a party was involved in the making of this Constitution. Sometimes it is embarrassing that we sit here to see the Opposition taking advantage of the mistakes that are being done by the National Assembly and the Executive. I am saying so because the National Assembly is becoming a rogue House. It did not start yesterday. It started with the demeaning of the Senate. The electronic version of the ... view
  • 12 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it was the wish of the House that this Statement should be presented today. Unfortunately, I am not able to do so. I have been on the Clerk of the Committee since yesterday. He has not been able to get the Statement because the Minister and all the officers who are supposed to have given the information are away out the country. We want your indulgence to be given more time for us to issue the Statement. view
  • 12 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you are quite right. However, if I could be appointed to that office, I can assure you the answers will be given immediately. However, for now I depend on other people to give me the answers to bring to the House. The House should bear that in mind. view
