Mr. Speaker, Sir, my Committee has summoned the Minister for Defence as well as the Minister for Interior and Coordination of National Government tomorrow. I do not know whether this meeting will be possible because of the Members of this Committee, I believe want to attend the prayers for the late Kajwang. But some of us will still be there, so that we see if the meeting can take place.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to sincerely apologise considering the seriousness of the Statement required that I am unable to give this Statement. However, I want to tell the House that if this Statement does not come by Tuesday, next week, we will summon all the security apparatus in this country to come and appear before the Committee and explain why a simple Statement of “Yes” or “No” cannot be done within two hours.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to support this Motion. As has been stated by many speakers, Articles 95 and 96 are very clear. The Executive which we represent here as a party was involved in the making of this Constitution. Sometimes it is embarrassing that we sit here to see the Opposition taking advantage of the mistakes that are being done by the National Assembly and the Executive. Mr. Speaker, Sir, it was the wish of the House that this Statement should be presented today. Unfortunately, I am not able to do so. I have been on the Clerk of the Committee since yesterday. He has not been able to get the Statement because the Minister and all the officers who are supposed to have given the information are away out the country. We want your indulgence to be given more time for us to issue the Statement.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, you are quite right. However, if I could be appointed to that office, I can assure you the answers will be given immediately. However, for now I depend on other people to give me the answers to bring to the House. The House should bear that in mind.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, that would be fair. Apart from the Lamu insecurity and the curfew, there was a request for a statement on the security of the whole country which you directed to be issued on Tuesday. I do not know whether my brother would wish me to deal particularly with Lamu or with the earlier statement as it were.
