  • 3 May 2023 in Senate: , Army, and police. Unfortunately, as the Mover said, there were suspicions that there must be a hidden agenda to keep the pastoralists busy, so that they can continue killing themselves and so that underdevelopment can continue. Otherwise, I do not know what to say. It is very unfortunate. I think this involves policy issues that are hidden from us because we cannot be talking about people being killed every day, yet we are in an independent country. We are not in a failed State. Therefore, there must be a reason the pastoralists are always fighting. They fight because they ... view
  • 2 May 2023 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to support the Statement on supply of oxygen. As you are aware, supply of oxygen is necessary, especially during emergencies. This is because there are many accidents happening, but oxygen is scarce in most parts of the country. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many Kenyans died due to lack of oxygen. Another thing is that in far-flung counties, most of us have the plans, but oxygen is in short supply. Oxygen is not enough for all those places and they cannot manufacture their own oxygen. Another thing is that, for any person who unfortunately gets sick ... view

  • 19 Apr 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would like to contribute on this Bill. As you are aware, the responsibility of this Senate is to safeguard interests of counties and see that devolution succeeds. In the last budget of the Financial Year 2022/2023, counties were given Kshs370 billion. To date, Kshs125 billion has not been disbursed. Most counties are facing problems serving wananchi. We have seen our doctors on the streets which is very unfortunate. People of that cadre should not be on the streets demonstrating around because of salaries.
