  • 6 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want to first of all thank the House for being able to adjourn to discuss this matter of national interest. I equally want to thank the substantive Speaker for ruling that the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Transport appears before the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing. Some of the issues that have been raised regarding this purported directive that was signed by the Commissioner General of the KRA and the Managing Director of KPA, is that all cargo for delivery to Nairobi and the hinterland must be conveyed by the ... view
  • 6 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Naivasha and Gilgil can handle. So, saying that you are compulsorily moving all these is a bit wanting. I am glad the mood of this House earlier on was in support of my Motion of Adjournment. It was in support of the fact that the Speaker had ruled. As a matter of fact, I am even glad that the Whip of the Majority Party, the Leader of the Majority Party, the Leader of the Minority Party and colleagues are all in agreement. This needs to be a wakeup call. Hopefully, when the Cabinet Secretary stands in front of the representatives ... view

  • 1 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, my colleagues have been able to expound on everything. I am sure our colleagues on the other side are aware of everything. However, in your communication, and as absurd as this may sound, probably, you might want to consider that the Senate were exercising their rights under Article 119, where every person has a right to petition Parliament. As absurd as it sounds, maybe, it is only right that this should come back as a petition that the Senate has submitted. It is clear to each and every one of us here and Senators know that they do ... view

  • 25 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: On a point of Order, Hon. Speaker. Will I be in order under Standing Order No. 95 considering the mood of this House and the need for Kenyans to request that the Mover be called upon to reply? It is very clear that counties need money and we have debated this. The Mover should now reply. Thank you. view
  • 2 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. As much as we will not be in agreement with the sentiments of the President, we will equally respect the Constitution of this country. Today, the Leader of the Majority Party has stressed on the fact that these shares had been bought way back at Kshs50 million for business asset and opportunities. When calculated, it is about Kshs50 million vis-a-vis Kshs100 million. We might not be able to agree that this will provide opportunities for employment for our people because we believe that there were better alternatives to let go of our ports. Again, ... view
  • 2 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: 90 per cent of the shares. Whether it is futuristic, we create laws not for now but for the future generations. This day will be remembered that Kenyans lost, but the Constitution of this country won. We will be remembered for that. Thank you. view
  • 9 May 2019 in National Assembly: Ahsante, Mhe. Spika.
