The proposed amendment to Section 135 of the Land Act seeks to provide for a new institution through which the Government can buy land. Instead of the NLC buying land for the Government, we are now saying that a new entity called the Land Settlement Fund Board of Trustees will be given the authority to do so. view

When the Agriculture Act, Cap. 318, was enacted, it totally repealed the Settlement Fund Trustee, which was hitherto that moment in charge of agricultural land.
