  • 17 Nov 2020 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I had raised my hand to intervene on a point of order before Sen. Sakaja. Is it in order for the Senate Majority Whip to say that there are only two parties in Kenya? I am the Chairperson for the Centre for Multiparty Democracy and I can report that the last count from the office of the Registrar of Parties, there were 87 political parties in Kenya. As much as not all the parties are represented in Parliament, we need to acknowledge that we have many political parties. Is Sen. Kang’ata ... view

  • 11 Nov 2020 in Senate: right to say that the disease is not well understood. I am sure that most of us here might also be wondering what it is. If the good professor and CS actually spoke those derogatory words and used such abusive language, then he is definitely out of order and must be called out. I am glad Sen. Shiyonga did just that. He must apologize. I do not know what level the person that was abused is. Maybe it is about time that education was devolved. view
  • 10 Nov 2020 in Senate: The idea that a CS would run around this country going to every little classroom and corner, fight with very junior people and abuse them because he is more powerful, invincible or perhaps he is the supervisor, is really unacceptable. Why would a sitting CS go and start running in classrooms? I have seen the CS actually do that in very many little corners of this country. That is a recipe for conflict. If one goes to supervise such junior people perhaps you are bound to find some fault and then get angry. Some people are not very evolved to ... view
