  • 6 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the tannery in question is along the Thika- Garissa Road. I came back from my constituency only yesterday. Anybody travelling on the Thika-Garissa Road within a range of 500 metres will sense the smell. I am sure that residents within the estates around there are affected. Could the Assistant Minister tell us when he is going to visit the tannery and what action he is going to take to address the situation? The smell is there as we speak. view
  • 6 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think the three arms of Government, whether it is the Judiciary, the legislature or the Executive, must be ready at all times for Kenyans of any standing to give their views of any judgement. I think the Chief Justice must come to the reality of that. Under our new Constitution, Kenyans will give their views on any judgement. Having said that, I think the Office of the Attorney-General has been exposed. I am sure it is not only in this case, but there are many other cases that the Government has lost due to inefficiency. ... view
  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have heard what the Assistant Minister has said that he will consult with hon. Mureithi and that he will review the answer that he has. This is not a Private Member’s Question. This Assistant Minister has been having this Question for the last--- Is he in order? view
  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, this problem is not only in Mbagathi Hospital, but it is across the country. Many hospitals have no doors, windows and sometimes three patients of different sex share one bed. Doctors are going on strike. Could he tell the nation what programmes they have for the whole nation---. view

  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to ask a question. I was building my case. What programme does he have for many hospitals, including Garissa General Hospital, in the country that have no doors, windows, and where three to five patients share one bed? view
  • 29 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Yes. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, through your indulgence, we need interpretation of the Constitution. We need your ruling on this. In case the Attorney General--- view
  • 24 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to support this Petition. It is not only the people of Nasewa, you will find many other Nasewas in this country, where public land has been taken over by private individuals. This Petition has come at a time when even the Kenya Airports Authority and the Government are out to reclaim all their land. The hon. Member for Nambale sought a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Agriculture. This issue has been going round and round in this House. With your indulgence, we want this issue to be solved. A Parliamentary Committee must ... view
  • 24 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. There is no discretion of the DPP nor is it the discretion of the Attorney-General to be very selective in what to provide to this House and the nation. The information he has given is that he has brought what the DPP has given him. Is he in order to fail to understand that the answer that this House requires must be an answer that satisfies hon. Members and the nation at large? view
  • 24 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is very sad that the Attorney- General of the Republic of Kenya looks at--- He already has problems with the Government that he serves. However, coming to the point, there are 35 companies and directors involved in the loss of Kshs8 billion by the Kenyan people. Out of these, only six cases of the same person, one George Odinga Donde; I do not know whether he is related to the Prime Minister, has been--- view
