Every time people call us to complain that they have no drugs and that there are not many personnel in the facilities. If this will solve those issues by retaining the monies at the county level and being able to purchase the drugs, I think it is a good Bill. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources regarding the incessant attack by wild animals in Masinga Dam and Ol-Donyo Sabuk Game Reserve in Machakos County. In the Statement, the Committee should: view
• 20 Sep 2023 in Senate: (1) indicate the number of people living in close proximity to Masinga Dam and Ol-Donyo Sabuk Game Reserve, injured or killed by crocodiles or hippopotamus and other wild animals; view
• 20 Sep 2023 in Senate: (2) explain the reason for the delay in fencing the dam and the game reserve by the Government to avert the attacks to the residents; view
• 20 Sep 2023 in Senate: (3) outline the measures put in place by the Government to ensure proper safeguarding of all water reserves and wild habitants to protect residents from potential encounters with wild animals; and, view
• 20 Sep 2023 in Senate: (4) state compensation measures put in place for injuries sustained by the human and domestic animals, loss of human and domestic animal lives, damage of crops, vegetation and property resulting from wildlife attacks. I thank you. view
• 19 Sep 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I inform Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale that I am a preacher and that I do not preach loudly but moderately. Therefore, it is not true when he says that preachers preach loudly because they have lost their hearing. I know that because I am a preacher. This is a point of correction and I request he withdraws that and apologizes to preachers. view
