  • 25 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to ask Question No. 345 of 2019 to the CS for Energy: (i) When will the Ministry connect the South Horr, Marti, Morijo, Barsaloi, Latakweny, Tuum, Masikita, Arsim and Uaso Rongai market centres in Samburu North Constituency with electricity, noting that the Loyangalani-Suswa power transmission line is now energised and has been launched and passes through the constituency? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary consider connecting and supplying electricity to all schools in Samburu North Constituency in line with the Government policy under the Last Mile Connectivity Programme? view
  • 25 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I rise to support Division of Revenue Bill just as my colleagues have. They have been on the right direction. I want to appeal to the Senate, that most of the projects down at the counties have already stalled. Projects that were waiting for money to be released so that they can be completed have stalled. There is also a serious issue of medicine which is not available in hospitals, particularly in the county where I come from, just because there is no money to purchase it . On the issue ... view
  • 3 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: I just want to enquire from the Leader of the Majority Party on Members from northern Kenya, the Pastoralists Parliamentary Group on areas that are affected by cattle rustling. The Cabinet Secretary had promised to address the issue of the disarmament of the Kenya Police Reservists (KPRs). It is like we are being cheated. There is nothing going on. • 20 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the second Petition. You know, NGOs can go out of their way to get money to support activities that are uncultured, and at times evil. So, the State, according to Article 45 of the Constitution needs to protect the family as its foundation. It is not African to protect and promote gay marriages. view
  • 19 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to present the public petition regarding the alleged refusal by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to promote teachers serving in Samburu County and its environs. I, the undersigned, on behalf of 19 concerned teachers in Samburu North Constituency, draw the attention of House to the following: 1. That, Article 41(1) of the Constitution entitles every person to fair labour practices; 2. That, the petitioners have and continue to selflessly serve the nation under the TSC in the volatile and hardship areas of northern Kenya, particularly in Samburu County; 3. That, the ... view

That, Part IV of the regulations (Kenya Subsidiary Legislation of 2015) made pursuant to Section 47 of the Basic Education Act provides for the criteria and the procedures for promotion of teachers from one grade to another; 5. That, under the said Regulations, a teacher is automatically promoted to the next grade after three years of service in the present grade, until Job Group L, from where promotions are based on appraisals and interviews upon advertisement of vacancies; 6. • 19 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I support these funds to be allocated to the IEBC. However, just like NLC, this Commission has also been facing a lot of wrangles, especially the appointment of the CEO and also the fact that they do not have all the commissioners. We want to appeal that something should be done using this Budget to ensure that the recruitment of the commissioners is done, filling of the Chief Executive Officer’s (CEO’s) position and there is continuous registration of voters before 2022. view
