  • 30 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: If you walk on the streets you will find young men lying on the streets because they have nothing else to do. All they do is to consume alcohol during the day and night. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 30 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: They do not work and are not engaged in any activities that are productive. So, this particular amendment will definitely ensure that busaa and other beers sold actually add vitamin to the human body. Beer made from sorghum, millet and cassava grown in Kenya will be excluded from that Excise Duty. I support Hon. Ichung’wah. He knows what we go through in our county. view
  • 30 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Truly, those who sell alcohol that is made from those products ought to be executed simply because they are denying the youth of this country an opportunity to become productive. That liquor is only sold in central Kenya. Why is that allowed to continue to happen? Why is it that it continues to kill the young men of this country, who could end up being very productive members of the society? view
  • 30 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Motion on the adoption of the Report of PIC. Despite the many challenges that the award of the contract to Zakhem International Construction Limited had, we know that we have a long way to go in the procurement processes. The benefits far outweigh the demerits in terms of reduced costs in transportation of oil, ensuring that we spur the economic activities in this country and spread the wealth so that Kenyans as a whole are able to take advantage of the lowered oil prices. Even as I support this Bill, ... view
  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. This is truly a landmark ruling in this country and a bill that eventually will allow the bottom of the pyramid to ensure that wealth distribution in this country takes place equitably and that we also recognise that we have local Kenyan contractors, people who are engaged in business who should be given priority and whom we should as a country continue to take pride in. We have an 11 million youth population, a time bomb that is ready to explode if it is not taken care of. So, the opportunities that are presented ... view
  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: continue to do the activities that continue to happen within organisations like KRA. The police are used to victimise organisations, for example Guarana beer which is locally manufactured but they are constantly harassed in this country by Kenya Breweries as they look to lock out locals. view

  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: I agree. They just happen to be my constituents and I am aware of the seriousness of the issues. When you close down a manufacturing production for two weeks because of victimisation, it is completely unfair. But that is noted. I stand to support and agree that finally we have come of age in this country to ensure that we equitably distribute wealth to the youth of this country. Thank you. view
  • 16 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Motion on the adoption of the Report of the Fifth Session of the Pan-African Parliament. It is important that as a country, we participate in areas that will influence issues of radicalisation, land use and e-Government that have been raised in this Report. Africa is now the new frontier for the whole world. It is the region where everybody is looking towards. It is important we get a legislative framework where if, as a country we are not able to resolve some issues internally, we can then go to ... view
  • 16 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: It will give us a voice as a country in various issues that are trans-continental. Kenya is seen as a key leader on this continent when it comes to various issues. This country has been a shining example of how e-procurement is done. It is important to note that when the President of the United States finally comes to his father’s homeland, Kenya will be seen as a country that plays quite a large and substantive role when it comes to international representation. The things we do are considered leading and landmark across the continent. view
