• 21 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Sergeant Gokon was murdered with his child. A motor vehicle was burnt the same way the motor vehicle belonging to the current Speaker of Baringo County was burnt near the same area. I suspect the killers and we will forward the information to the police. The trend of the killings has been almost the same style and manner. I am happy the police have taken statements from the people who were at the scene and I am sure the truth will be known and it will be established that Kamama has no business in the murder. view

Deputy Speaker, I spoke to two of the victims who were injured; one a pharmacist by the name Adomeon, who was actually lying down and somebody called Ng’ong’e, an aspirant, and they said that after finishing, the killers said “kaketar kasit”. They spoke Tugen and not Pokot. The fellows will record statements. That is confirmation. view
• 21 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: I support the sentiments expressed by Hon. Cheptumo that we need to deploy quite a number of security men in that area. Let us saturate the area with police officers whether it is the Recce Company or General Service Unit (GSU) to take care of security in the area. view

Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 15 of the Bill be amended by inserting the following new sub-clause immediately after sub-clause (8)− “(9) The Secretary appointed under subsection (2) shall be a State officer.” This amendment is in line with the existing Public Service Act which provides that the secretary to the commission shall be a State officer. So, it is quite in order. view

Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, clause 27 of the Bill be amended in sub-clause (1) by inserting the words “the authorized officer of” immediately after the words “written request by”. This amendment seeks to give an authorised officer, who is normally the Principal Secretary (PS) or a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a parastatal, who is an officer appointed by the commission, the power to request for the establishment of an office in the Public Service. view
