  • 25 May 2017 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. As I rise to support to this Petition by Gov. Kidero and noting that I am an outgoing nominated Senator and incoming governor for Nakuru County, I would caution the governor that he needs also to be held responsible for many other monies that have been misused in Nairobi County. Thank God that the Government of Kenya has that huge debt which has not been paid because it might end up paying for it in the next term, whereby it will be in safe hands. I think the delay by the Government was a good ... view

  • 6 Apr 2017 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I concur with the Senate Majority Leader. It is long since I saw that colour of a shirt he is putting on because it resembles one of the shirts that I normally put on. In saving this matter it is the President who has a final signature. It is the right time he sides with Kenyans towards this matter. view
  • 6 Apr 2017 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, the National Assembly has a bad habit of bypassing Bills which go direct to the President for assent. I am only requesting the President to monitor this one very keenly because it has to be in an agreement from both Houses. This is a norm from the National Assembly whereby they have come up with a bad habit of disrespecting this House and taking it for granted. That is why I mentioned the President because finally if this Bill bypasses or the entire document bypasses and goes to the President for assent, he needs to have ... view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in Senate: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Speaker. Is it in order for the Senator who is my good friend to come and start mentioning names of personalities who cannot even come and defend themselves here in this Senate? view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I beg to support this Motion to adjourn sittings of the Senate to 28th March 2017. That is a good step that has been taken by this House purely because this is a season of campaign and elections. This House has a good number of Senators who want to prepare themselves for the elections. I will be contesting for the gubernatorial seat of Nakuru County. This county has 11 constituencies. I need to marshal my muscle and make sure that I get the majority of the votes in Nakuru County on a KANU ticket. It would be ... view
  • 1 Mar 2017 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for Sen. Madzayo, who is actually my Chairman in the Committee we sit in together, not to procedurally apologize to Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale? He just corrected his mistake, but never apologized. It is important for him to apologize. view
  • 1 Mar 2017 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, if it was not sought, I would request that you ask Madzayo to apologize. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate view
  • 22 Feb 2017 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to get a clarification from the IEBC if a window would be opened for the large number of Kenyans who are applying for IDs and willing to participate in the next election to make sure that they register as voters. Otherwise, it has been noted that a large number was in the rush, looking for IDs in order to participate in the coming elections. view
  • 22 Feb 2017 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would urge you to use all the powers within your discretion to defer this matter either to tomorrow or any other day. This is because if this Bill will not be passed today, it will be like the beginning of the darkest day for women. As we all can remember, the issues of affirmative action have been with us for a long time. It is my sincere hope that the Senate will not be a House where this Bill will be defeated or negative when the vote is called. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard ... view
