22 Jul 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, while noting that we had been assured by the Treasury that, this year, they are going to employ 700 new accountants, we want to reiterate that, that figure of 700 seems to have been arrived at arbitrarily and, therefore, it is important that we hire even more accountants so that reports can be more accurate, more professional and more timely.

22 Jul 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I noted that when we were receiving evidence from accounting officers, majority of those accounting officers were people who were beyond 50 years. Some of them are all the way up to the age of 65. Secondly, could the Assistant Minister clarify the total cost these task forces have visited on public funds.

22 Jul 2009 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister is not in order to mislead the House that the President can spend public funds without any regard as to whether the public is going to be interested in getting value for expendigure of their money. The reason as to why the Office of the Controller and Auditor-General is there is to make sure that the public gets value for any money that is expended. Can the Assistant Minister admit that he is just being a good advocate for the President, who deliberately refuses to make these ...

21 Jul 2009 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. This Minister is one of the beneficiaries of the expanded and bloated Grand Coalition Cabinet. Is he confirming that he is doing nothing in his Ministry and that, in fact, he is merely there for political reasons?
