  • 16 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, year in, year out, this Government imports food into the country and yet we are capable of irrigating our farms. We must start view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, first, I want to apologize to the House and the hon. Member for coming late. I also want to apologize that he does not have the written answer. I wonder whether I can be given five minutes to get a copy to him or I can just answer the Question. It is a brief answer. view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am very ready. It is just that I do not know why he does not have the written answer. I am saying, it is so brief and I can even give him my own copy of the answer and proceed to answer him. view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Are you sure you do not want me to answer now? view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, while appreciating the concerns of the House, I think the hon. Member should not say “just a Pokot.” A Kenyan is a Kenyan; whether he is a Pokot, Kamba or Turkana. I think we know, as the Government, that every Kenyan must be treated well and protected. So, I think we need to remove the word “just”, because it belittles that person who has been killed. Maybe, the Government has not done what it needed to do, but I do believe that it is going to do what it has to do. view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to support this Motion as amended. We have watched with a lot of interest the nomination of these three. First, three appointments were made in January and they tried to come to this House but the hon. Prime Minister said that there were no consultations. Therefore, we went back to the drawing board. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it was not until the 17th of May that, again, the new proposals of the Chief Justice, the Deputy Chief Justice and the Director of Public Prosecutions were made. We were all very happy because we had ... view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I watched people who were opposed to Mr. Tobiko and really asked myself many questions. In this case, I watched the Director of KACC, Dr. P.L.O, say that this person was working for the former regime. But up to this day, the KACC Director is still working for Moi. So, how can he accuse Tobiko view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: of having worked for the former regime when he, to this day, is still working for the former regime? So, I think it is high time we stopped removing specks in other people’s eyes and, first of all, look at the logs in our own eyes! view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to support vehemently the nomination of these three people. view
  • 26 May 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I have provided a list; the hon. Member has a list of the establishment of members of staff at Bura and Hola irrigation schemes, indicating their respective details, departments, terms of service and date of employment. (b) In the last five years, no member of staff has retired from the scheme. This is the same House that I gave an answer about four weeks ago. I was not personally satisfied because we did not have as many women as I would have liked to have in the scheme. I am ... view
