  • 14 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is not necessarily the matatus, but Kenyans and we will be included there. Obviously, you are immune to strikes. view
  • 13 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Going by your words, it reminds me of the days when I was in school. The Assistant Minister is an equivalent of a Form One student. Form One students were called “monos” and they used to be given mentors to train them, so that they could catch up fast. Could I suggest that hon. Ojode becomes his mentor? view
  • 13 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security whether he could indicate the amount of money allocated to Yatta and Matuu police stations for fuel and vehicle maintenance in the last three financial years. view
  • 13 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. If you look at the Question, it is very specific. It has asked how much money has been allocated to Yatta and Matuu police stations. The Assistant Minister has given the disbursements for the entire county. In the answer, he says that: “The OCPD is allowed to use his discretion in determining the levels of allocation of fuel and other resources to the police stations under his command”. That is the reason in the first place. After the OCPD used his discretion, how much money was given to Yatta and Matuu police ... view
  • 8 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. In view of the fact that this matter requires more time on your part, will I be in order to suggest to the House that we move on to the next Question and wait for your ruling, which can come at a later date? view
  • 7 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, so that we are comfortable, I know that it was kind for him to write the letter. However, the practice has been that his two Deputies can come and conduct the Prime Minister’s Time. Is he confirming from now onwards, that when he is not there, there will be no representation by the two Deputies which is something that will be against the Standing Orders? view
  • 7 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I support. But a Member of the Speakers Committee has said they have only met once. view
  • 7 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: If you look at the Standing Order No. 169, it says if a member fails to attend four consecutive sittings of a Committee, and it goes on and says the consequences are that he ceases to be a Member of that Committee. view
  • 7 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: So, what happens is that there are actually no sittings. If in four years, they have sat once, then there are no sittings. I am not a lawyer, but I can imagine a lawyer would argue that in the sense this Committee has ceased being a Committee. view
  • 7 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, we all know the CV of hon. Yussuf Hassan Abdi. We can do much more with hon. Yussuf in other very vibrant Committees. So, I would plead with the whips who have the powers that be, to get hon. Yussuf a Committee, where this Parliament can enjoy the wealth of his experience. I beg to support. view
