Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise to support the Bill. The Constitution of Kenya 2010 has been described as the most progressive document in the region. This is true because the entire Chapter Four is dedicated to the Bill of Rights. This is so because human dignity is a very essential aspect of our lives. As human beings, we wish to live a decent life. Some of us are lucky to have better housing. However, we have many Kenyans who are unable to access better housing and other facilities like water and health. That is why this Constitution places ...

It is time for this House and State organs, the Senate and National Assembly, to rise to the occasion and pass this Bill. Article 53 talks about socio-economic rights. We have done very well as a country to address other rights. If you look at the right to life, privacy, human dignity, slavery, freedom of expression, media and political rights, we have done so well. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, allow me to also send my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and relatives of the late hon. Hassan. I served with the late hon. Kullow in the National Assembly during the Twelfth Parliament. I can confirm to colleagues here that, indeed, hon. Hassan was very humble, friendly and committed to his work as a Member of Parliament (MP). We used to have some programmes with him during the Twelfth Parliament. When he had functions at his place, I would send him some money in support and when I had the same at my place, he ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have a problem of accidents arising from boda boda. Today, we are talking about our former colleague because we knew him. However, there are many Kenyans who lose their lives through boda boda accidents. There is need to come up with ways and means to ensure that we reduce this, as it has been said by Members. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise to support the Statement by Sen. Osotsi on the issue of de-gazettement. If you listened to Members who spoke to this Statement, it seems as if this is a challenge facing almost every county. In fact, all the Members who spoke to this Statement have very specific issues and concerns in their counties. I would like to agree with the Members who said that there is need for the Committee to look into it more holistically. I heard Sen. Onyonka requesting the Senate Majority Leader to speak to the President about this issue. ...
