It is not only in the marginal areas or counties or constituencies which border our neighbouring countries, it is there internally, for example, in Meru. You will find that officers have nobody to supervise them. In my constituency an office has one or two staff and every other day we have youths who turn up there to get ID cards but they never get them. It is important we recognise the two cash crops from the Coast and they are the mainstay of the people from the Coast. Each region has its cash crops. I would like to support it because the people of the Coast supported us in the 11th Parliament when we were struggling to have miraa classified as a cash crop. view
