  • 27 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I am very saddened by this kind of a Motion which has come this time. I am saddened in the sense that the Government spends a lot of money in the Ministry of Education. In fact, more than one third of budgetary allocation in this country goes to education. If a school is burning every other time and when we raise calls, we do not seem to get the actual root cause or causes, then we are lost in the game. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, this is a very sad story to tell, listen to or ... view

  • 27 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, there is a likelihood that the same will be done to me. Is it true? view
  • 27 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, this thing should not even have been the way it is. According to Sen. (Prof.) Lesan, we should take a longer time to discuss it. This is an issue, a catastrophe and a disaster which we must think about what is happening. If it is cheating which is causing all these things, let us get to the root and see to it that no student will be allowed to do this or that. • 27 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, on a point of order. Sen. (Prof.) Lesan is a Member of my Committee and this was done through my consultation. So, you need to understand, the Senate Minority Leader. view
  • 26 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, recently Kenya agreed to repatriate the Somali refugees from Kenya to their country. Now that we are foreseeing a situation where Sudanese refugees will come to Kenya, are we practicing double standards by sending away the Somalis while opening up camps for Sudanese refugees in Kenya? What kind of reconciliation can we provide? view
  • 26 Jul 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am imagining how Kenyans are feeling in South Sudan and more so, in Juba. It is like a river which has marooned a village and there is no hope, not even from the sky, and there are no signs that this situation will end soon; that is the feeling they have. Could the Government take the quickest means or methods of transport possible, including using parachutes, to go and evacuate those people who are marooned because it is very serious? We are talking about people who are about to die literally and they are saying that ... view
  • 26 Jul 2016 in Senate: Exactly, we need to use the quickest possible way even if it means doing it today. view
  • 21 Jul 2016 in Senate: Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for allowing the Chairman of the Education Committee to contribute and welcome my colleagues, friends and students from Spain. Spain is a very significant country in this world because without Spain we would not be talking about the partition and scramble for Africa. It is Spain which has facilitated and pioneered the struggle and the discovery of the continent. Initially, it was supposed to be one continent called Europa and it is Spain which made sure that they discovered Africa, America and so forth. Through Christopher Columbus, we salute Spain. When you get ... view
